Terms of use

For patients using the Althena Care app in the United States. Last updated November 3, 2026.

In India? Read the India terms of use.

These terms are between you and Althena AI, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Althena", "we"). By using the Althena Care app you agree to them. Practices that use Althena Care accept separate terms when they sign up.

1. What Althena Care is

Althena Care gives you Andrea, an AI care companion that checks in with you between sessions with your clinician, by voice or chat, following the guidance your clinician sets. What you share goes back to your clinician, who decides what happens next.

Andrea is an AI, not a person, doctor or therapist. She doesn't diagnose, treat or advise on medication, and she can make mistakes. Althena Care doesn't replace your clinician or their care.

2. Not for emergencies

Althena Care is not an emergency service and isn't monitored around the clock. If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, 24/7). In an emergency, call 911.

3. Who can use it

4. Your care team

Your conversations, summaries, check-ins and safety alerts are shared with your clinician and their practice, as you agreed when you joined. Your practice is responsible for your health information; see our privacy policy. If your practice stops using Althena Care or your care with them ends, Andrea stops too.

5. Cost

You never pay in the app. Your practice pays for Althena Care. If your practice charges you for between-session support, that's under your own agreement with your practice; Althena isn't part of it.

6. Using it well

7. Ending

You can stop at any time and ask to delete your account. We may suspend access if these terms are broken or to keep people safe.

8. Our responsibility

We work hard to keep Althena Care available and safe, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always work without interruption or that Andrea's replies will always be right. To the extent the law allows, Althena isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that can't be limited.

9. Changes and law

If we change these terms we'll update this page and tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Delaware law governs these terms, except where your state's consumer law gives you more protection.
